Are You Really Just Looking For Friends Online?

A lot of singles go to online dating sites trying to be sneaky. They approach the opposite sex under the guise of looking for “just friends”. They think it will be easier to get you to let your guard down. As a matter of fact, it is easy to get someone's personal email address and/or phone number if they feel they are communicating with a “friend”.

Are you really just looking for friends online? If the answer is yes, make sure this is really what you are trying to do. If you are being deceitful, it will blow up in your face and you will ruin a potential relationship.

I find nothing more “slimey” than someone trying to “worm” their way into my life and my trust by just wanting to be my friend. In my earlier online days, I did fall for “just lookin' for friends” line. So, we were communicating about each of our lives, then within a couple of weeks the entire conversation “flipped” and suddenly my good “friend” was looking for more! I was livid! There were things I told this “friend” that I would never tell a “love interest”. The sad part about it, I would have been romantically interested in this person IF that is the way he had approached me in the beginning!

Are you really just looking for friends online? If you aren't please do not go online trying to fool people. You will destroy any chance you have of getting to know the other singles
on any dating site. Once you get a bad reputation online, bad news travels fast!
